A beautiful morning,
The start of a new day;
The sun starts its warming,
As I get up to pray.
I thank God for the light,
As the birds outside sing,
As all is looking bright,
A breeze makes wind chimes ring.
I look up in the sky,
The color is so blue;
As I feel myself sigh,
God is faithful and true.
As I think of the past,
My mother and father;
I wish those times would last,
At least have gone farther.
For those days on the farm,
Just seem to be so fine;
It was so cheerful and warm,
When I was eight or nine.
For the farm came alive,
Hearing the rooster and cows;
That was usually five,
Cats begging with meows.
Grandma fed the chickens,
And went to the garden;
Made meals finger lickin,
Being quite the bargain.
But those days were long gone,
Knowing God will take care;
New days bring a new dawn,
I know they are safe there.
