stubborn

t-t-t-tired
see the bump on your head
st-stubborn stubborn is
what he said
knot-head
unicorn
stumbling over your
stubbornness since the day
you were born

thump-thud
carrrunch
splat

you wear your heart in the middle
not on your sleeve
its there
for all to see
makes you a big wide target
you've decided you won't live your life any
differently
so why ain't you got
schmart yet?
why hasn't your heart stopped?

schwoosh-slosh
floppity-flop

t-tired t-tired from the bump
in the middle of your forehead
stubborn is as stubborn does
he said
unicorn
knot-head
too many jolts
you might end up dead
from all the schtubbing you do
running those ideas up into
a world that's not that quite right
for you

kah-klunk
thunk
augh-ow

bumping into things
will do you no good
got your heart splintering
its made of fragile wood
knot-head
unicorn
stubborn as the year is long
st-stubborn from the moment
your were born

st-st-stubbornness will shorten
you
so they can tromp-trample
all over
you.

say, have you seen her?
where is the broom?

squeeesh squaaash squishy
squawsh.

"sweep her up!"

*something that got stuck in my head
and a bit in my craw.
