The witness faithful and true,
The amen they say to you;
From a God you know is just,
And that you can always trust.
For God knows what you have done,
And not thinking of the One;
You are neither cold nor hot,
For the needs that God has sought.
Since you are nearly lukewarm,
And it seems to be your norm;
From His mouth He spits you out,
For the faithfulness you doubt.
Though you are rich and wealthy,
But not spiritual healthy;
You claim not needing a thing,
But seeing hardship you bring.
You are poor and pitiful,
Not wealthy and merciful;
Being blinded and naked,
Not smelling like an orchid.
So you have been also told,
From God buy purified gold;
And your garments of pure white,
So you seem rich in His light.
And then your shame will not show,
To the others where you go;
Buy ointment then for your eyes,
As to see through your own disguise.
God corrects and disciplines,
Everyone for their sins;
Take seriously the love,
That is flowing from above.
Change the way you act and think,
For a pure spiritual drink;
Together feast wine and meat,
He is willing to sit down and eat.
