I do not have any command, From the Lord that He would demand; Other than treating her as pure, A virgin that is real mature. I am someone to whom the Lord, That He has trusted not ignored; And has given me His embrace, Showing me much mercy and grace. For the crisis now I believe, It is good not to be naive; And to remain just as we are, For preventing another scar. Do you presently have a wife? Keep her for the rest of your life; If divorced look not for another, Merely go back to your mother. If married again you sinned not, But trouble awaits to be sought; The second time could be the charm, And it might be a false alarm. But if a virgin gets married, Offspring will not be miscarried; Because she has not ever sinned, And has grown up well disciplined. If you are married having one, Time is short so act as if none; Eyes filled with tears have no sorrow, Live like there is no tomorrow. For this world in its present form, Is now very far from the norm; As its fashion passes away, Live as you want to live each day. Copyright © 2013 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
