Brief, Unforgettable Moment.
I was asked to sing both male parts
In a musical a few years ago:
The lead tenor sadly had the flu,
The producer pleaded, don't say no.
I was told a celebrity would be there,
I wondered who it would be.
On the stage I had a good look around
But no one famous could I see.
A few moments passed then in she walked,
I could feel the tension arise.
In front of me Her Majesty the Queen,
What an amazing, momentous surprise.
She was introduced to the company,
then shook me with her gloved hand:
Her words I will always remember,
"Your performance was quite grand."
In that brief, unforgettable moment
Words wouldn't come my way.
I looked at her and smiled:
I will never forget that day.
