I could smell the fragrance of your perfume

I could smell the fragrance of
your perfume lingering in the
air and I knew in my heart
that
it could be no one else but you

Yet it just couldn't be

But I still looked
for you everywhere

Thinking that I
might
get to see you

Or at least get a glimpse of you

Like a beautiful ray of
sunshine shining through

But I never did get the chance to see you

Because you  were just passing through
to let me know that you were very near

By allowing me to smell the
fragrance of your
perfume lingering in the air

But it was delightful just to know
that you had stopped by
just so that you could visit me

I will say that it has been a long time
since we shared our
last words together before you had to go

But at least I was truly blessed that day
more than I had ever imagined that I could
be
just to be able to hear you say I love you

Before you took your very
last breath and went away

(I miss you mom)
