Poetic-Verses
'' Where Hypocrisy Stares You In The Face ''
Take a wedding a funeral or a christening,
In essence they're all much the same,
As family and friends are all listening?
Everyone joins in the game.
Grudges are forgotten for at least a short while,
Against your own conscience you're pitted,
Like those pearly white teeth you put on a false smile,
While both top and bottom are gritted.
Weddings are where friends and families meet,
Some they haven't seen for years,
The excuses they use just can't be beat,
Some of them would have you in tears.
Christenings epitomise the art of goodwill,
That's what they'd have you believe,
Meeting friends and family you'd love to kill,
Your torment you'd love to relieve.
Funerals are the height of hypocrisy and lies,
None have a bad thing to say,
Until they get drunk then everyone cries,
I wish this would all go away.
They all love each other and know you well,
There's the promise to keep in touch,
Inside they're saying, go rot in Hell,
The truth is they hate you so much,
It's human nature to put on a show,
We live in a world of pretend,
There's nothing you're told that you don't know,
Bad habits you refuse to amend.
If you've got one someone else will have two,
It's guaranteed another will have three,
They can do anything better than you,
If you think otherwise they will not agree.
Of all these occasions you need to take care,
If a family gathering is about to take place,
These are three of those events you need to beware,
