Happy Birthday To Elvis With Love

 Dear Elvis

I have taken so much from you
Your music, friendship, love
Is there some way to just give back
All I’ve mentioned up above?

You still dance upon my mind
And sing within my heart
So, Elvis, you still give to me
And you’re still so much a part

Of all I’ve been… all that I am…
All that I’ll ever be…
For way down deep inside my soul
Lives your sweet memory.

The warmth of your engaging smile…
Your charismatic raw appeal…
Your intoxicating, impressive looks
Can still waltz in to steal

My thoughts at any moment…
Any time of any day…
So, actually, it's almost like
You've never gone away.

Yet I sometimes feel a memory
Slip forlornly down my face
As reality will always reach
That cold and lonely place.

But, today, upon your birthday,
I’m blowing kisses up above.
You’re someone I will always miss…
Someone I’ll always love.
