Do not be so preoccupied
By the wicked that criticized;
Never envy the wicked things,
And the evil and sin it brings.
They will quickly dry up like grass,
Wither away like minutes pass;
Just as time will simply go by,
Or as a stress may cause a sigh.
Trust in the Lord and do good things,
And seeing what His power brings;
Practice being faithful to live,
And remembering to forgive.
Be happy with the Lord always,
So your heart or mind never strays;
For He will give your desires,
Of what your heart all requires.
Entrust your ways unto the Lord,
Never letting Him be ignored;
If you trust Him then He will act,
On your behalf to be exact.
He will make your righteousness shine,
Like the glory of the Divine;
Your just cause like the noon day sun,
As bright as the Anointed One.
Let go of the anger and rage,
Lock them both up inside a cage;
Go ahead throw away the key,
Then cover the cage not to see.
