mother nature has devised new means for my end
one day we will
eventually
fall
into
the ocean
become
melting icebergs
calving
into
the sea
never been
at ease
near
mountains
nor near grand
bodies
of
water
flatland
prairies
are more
suited
to
me
its vital
to see what is
in front
and what is
behind
the
full
perspective
knowing how far
I've been
how far
I have yet
to go
may have been born
goat-like
but not quite
the climber
in the end
I will have to know
how to use
my goat-endurance
to survive
the waters
I do not relish
drowning
but would prefer
my final death to be
being thrown high up into
my favorite tree
my skin crisping
in the sun
or a blazing bonfire built and
seen for miles
for my
false vanity
let my few friends
come toast
marshmallows
and swig
beer
to me.
