 ~REFLECTING MOMENTS~

IMPOSTER

I peeled back my swollen eyelids
and became the joke of my world
it was disabling and intimidating
then came the loud hush of our town

All I will ever remember
are those giant rubber wheels
and my back spasms and pain
I find shelter inside 4 walls

The pillows are flattened
from a 1000 colorful heads
there is no rest for the weary
we implode beneath an archway

Common and fit for the guest
that is stunned and broken
aside the book of cruel lies
that would rip wide the wound

Derailed the character of mine
seamless words and her chatter
and generic product of perfume
to cover up that filth and scent

Subtle hints of twitching eyebrows
and those quickened appendages
underneath it all is an rusted razor
that will divide safety and danger
