'' It's Cyclists We Need To Beware ''

I woke up happy with feelings of joy,
Today there's nothing I will allow to annoy,
This feeling I have nobody will destroy,
I love life without a care.

I jump on my bike and head off to work,
Along the main road where dangers lurk,
It's full of intrigue and terrible murk,
It can give you a terrible scare.

As I travel along the cycle lane,
Suddenly I feel a terrible pain,
Someone shout's out, you lot are insane,
You drive us all bloody spare.

As I soldier on I skip a red light,
Giving a taxi a terrible fright,
He shouts at me have you lost your sight,
Cycling certainly isn't fair.

To avoid a hole I fall foul of a bus,
His comments to me I refuse to discuss,
I then shout back, what's all the fuss,
Patience among drivers is rare.

I then turn a corner at the side of a truck,
In his side door my wheel got stuck,
He screams out loudly you've run out of luck,
For danger you have a flair.

As I travel the pavements I refuse to stall,
As I hit a pram my bike and I fall,
Would someone please give the police a call?
Before I'm in need of repair.

I then move on battered and broken,
What I said to them all must remain unspoken
Being still alive is my only token,
They have left me feeling despair.

Cycling really is a test of endurance,
From you lot we need reassurance,
Though I don't pay any tax or insurance,
Your acts of cruelty I can no longer bear.

So stay out of my way these are my roads,
Whether driving small cars or heavy loads,
You know what you can do with your highway codes,
Shove them where the sun don't glare.

Pedestrians and vehicles should all be banned,
Cyclist routes only need to be planned,
You bloody drivers are all out of hand.
You leave us without a prayer.

My feelings of joy like me are now dead,
I cried from above as my epitaph was read,
To my astonishment the eulogy said,

‘' It's Cyclists We Need To Beware ‘'
