BUTTERFLY WINGS
The colour delights
A spectre of rainbow hues
Floating high in the sky
But lower than a cloud
Graceful pirouettes
To soft music
The air bristles to a secret language
Where gossamer drifts beyond
Flaxen hair flows over her shoulders
And she wears a flower
Each petal owing lightness of wing, thus
Sweetness of song
Be summer afternoon
Where wings journey
Folded against sunbeams
And life’s end
