'' They're Far Too Precious To Ignore ''

As I walked through the cemetery to visit a grave,
I couldn't believe my eyes,
There were ghostly residents having a rave,
No I'm not telling lies.

The young and the old were dancing away,
All of them without a care,
Sinatra, The Beatles, music of today,
It was such a beautiful affair.

Generations separated by thousands of years,
Asking how they had died,
Some of their tales brought floods of tears,
As in each other they did confide.

What is a car, what's an aeroplane?
How did you invent the wheel?
To me the questions were quite inane,
But to them they had an appeal.

What they worked at and how they survived,
Can you honestly say you know?
How they suffered or how they thrived,
This information can give you a glow.

How are my family are they still going strong,
Do they even know I existed?
Why don't any of them happen along?
Has proof of my life been misted?

Have you ever thought what will happen to you?
When from this Earth you finally depart,
Will your family remain forever true?
Or will you disappear from their heart.

Millions of those passed when laid to rest,
Are far too soon forgotten,
Though with memories we are blessed,
Our attitude towards them can be rotten.

Why not trace your own family tree,
There'll be many surprises in store,
Think of the many secrets you'll free,
