Poetic-Verses

'' You're Dead ''

I am but a child I've no marks on my face,
My body is healthy and strong,
My youth and vigour I do tend to embrace,
My life I aim to prolong.

I'm a teenager now I'm growing up fast,
My God you have a lot to learn,
My unmarked body is now in the past,
Those scars I have had to earn.

My teen years are gone I'm now a young man,
I really do enjoy a good time,
Having a drink putting on my fake tan,
Getting older I don't feel is a crime.

Working and sports have taken their toll,
Having character is what I like to say,
Over getting older I have little control,
Though being careful does tend to pay.

I'm now at the age where it's time to retire,
From work not from everyday life,
Being alive really lights my fire,
I'm now living without the everyday strife.

Though living can be hard and sometimes tough,
The good times always outweigh the bad,
My personal opinion is you can't get enough,
If you're reading this then try to be glad.

I've enjoyed a good time and I want even more,
So I don't live my life in a hurry,
Trying to hide crow lines is too much of a chore,
About my appearance I try not to worry.

My face is wrinkled my hair has turned grey,
But getting older doesn't fill me with dread,
A word of advice and your fears I'll allay,
The day you stop ageing,

‘' You're Dead ‘'
