Take a word and then another,
Soon you'll have a line,
Your inspiration let nothing smother,
Soon everything's going just fine.
What you choose is up to you,
Writing is to be enjoyed,
What you start you must see through,
Try not to get annoyed.
Now try your best to keep it going,
Make your poem grow,
With a little to-ing and fro-ing
Think and the words will flow.
Writers block will make you terse,
Truth is it can be beat,
Suddenly you will have a verse,
Looking nice and neat.
Use the world as inspiration,
There's a story to be found,
Make it the basis of your creation,
There are ideas all around.
Another verse is written down,
You refuse to admit defeat,
Using every verb and every noun,
Soon your poem will be complete.
Keep it going you're almost there,
Suddenly you hit a blip,
Though you think this isn't fair,
You dare not let it slip.
The final words are now in place,
Your poem has no equal,
Now your steps you must retrace,
