Remember the old days
Find a penny on the ground
and it was good luck
Go to the park feed a duck
Five pennies would buy a candy bar
Now five quarters don't get far
And walk in the park
You better be with friends
I miss the old days
Remember Grandpa saying
"Learn from your mistakes"
I used to watch those movie stars
The giants of the big screen
The one's smoking are no longer here
Even some of those beauties I fear
Well I learned from that mistake
Gave up smoking for breathing sake
So what is there about this new generation
Have their brains taken a vacation
I see them light up and how foolish
I guess they just have a death wish
And this thing about doing cocaine
This endless cycle is driving me insane
We've voted in Marijuana it is now legal
Coming back from extinction is the American Eagle
High in the sky looking quite regal
While down below kids with brains of a beetle
But old man you used to drink booze
And as Grandpa said a habit I choose to loose
And here we are killing ourselves for Religion
Wandering the park smarter than I a tiny Grey pigeon
A penny saved is a penny earned
Yet from the wisdom of Grandpa we have not learned
And regrettfully from our sinful ways we get burned
And remember when it was boys and girls going out to play
With all these drugs and free love it's different today
Tired am I and no longer with a short sighted vision
The Eagle is back but the world he knew on a collision
It's time for the youth in this nation to make a decision
Because the war in no longer being faught in a far off land
It's time for all of us to end this perversion and take a stand
