Mostly because kids liked to beat me up
I think it was because I was black
OK, both my natural parents are white
But I told them I was black because
in my neighborhood everyone was afraid
of Muhammad Ali--he was my hero growing up
Not because of boxing he was a good dancer
I learned that if they can't hit you
they can't hurt you, my problem I couldn't
sting like a bee and often the did hit me
Some said I faught more like Micheal Jackson
First thing about boxing I learned
Was to cry and go home--It didn't work with dad
If I came home crying he hit me
It became a thing of it was them or me
I lost a tooth once--I was trying to tell this
Kid that his girlfriend was not fat, pleasantly plump
But then who was I to talk with no front tooth
I gave up boxing for fasting
I love to chew my food
I was very near to the Middle weight Golden glove champion
I shook his hand as he was helping me to my feet
I decided to give up boxing to be a golfer
I wasn't good at that either but it helped my looks
