Since we are surrounded by things,
We must rid those that slow us down;
No matter what pleasure they bring,
Do cheerfully without a frown.
Especially if it has sin,
We must never let it distract;
It could start to corrupt within,
And making you overreact.
We must go win what lies ahead,
Run the race and never give up;
We cannot just go back to bed,
Or drink the poison in the cup.
We must focus on Jesus to win,
God did not make us as losers;
But resist temptation of sin,
Not a bunch of drunken boozers.
Our faith is the source and goal,
For seeing joy ahead of you;
So turn over to Christ your soul,
You will see the Gospel is true.
Jesus endured death on the cross,
And He ignored the disgrace too;
His life on earth He suffered loss,
To have eternal life for you.
He was given the highest seat,
The throne next to God in Heaven;
For causing Satan his defeat,
And adoptions of us were given.
So take heed when He disciplines,
The Lord disciplines children for love;
You must think twice about your sins,
If you will join Him up above.
