There it stood for something more
Initials carved where love was scored
Upon timber that would outlast
The lives of those, their years surpassed
It was the place to mark one's own
Love for them, back then home sown
A place to reminisce of love
Love once young and still thought of
She was a keeper, the one wished for
The girl of his dreams and so much more
But years would pass both them right by
As sweethearts tend to say goodbye
Wedding plans and their own place
Two things, two kids on heart would trace
But puppy love would meet its end
As move became loss of girlfriend
She too lost Knight in shining armor
For time had come to one last hour
As hearts would break and go their way
But not where wished they could have stayed
A piece of them still lives and keeps
A special place where hearts still sleep
Upon but once upon on tree
Are names that set each other free
