'' A Stake In Death Is My Fate ''

This life is really getting me down,
Daybreak always brings on a frown,
How I'd love to spend just one day in town,
But circumstances otherwise dictate.

I never at any time asked to be this way.
To others I can cause terrible affray,
In truth I wasn't really given a say,
I can't even blame it on fate.

Some treat this lifestyle as wonderful fun,
Those who are holy I must always shun,
I can't see the pleasure in a rising sun,
For my pleasure I just have to wait.

Why am I like this I hear you all ask,
As in others misfortune I do tend to bask,
If living this way is such a terrible task,
Why not disown this trait.

Though I know what I do will never be right,
In a sick sort of way I can see the light,
But once you start you can feel the bite,
To leave now I'm afraid is too late.

I had such a desire to live on forever,
Eternal happiness was my endeavour,
Now my ties with my master I cannot sever,
He we must never berate.

To a life of darkness I've been committed,
Against the forces of good I've been pitted,
For what I've done I'll never be acquitted,
For forgiveness I'll have a long wait.

Eternal life most would class as deluxe,
Truth is it's not when you get down to the crux,
The life of a Vampire really sucks,
