‘' Means To These Planets We'll Never Go ‘'

As our planet is dying we look to the stars,
Was there, is there life on Mars,
Could it be they once had cars?
I wonder did it ever snow.

What did they find when they went to the moon,
Did they happen upon an alien commune?
Were our first words, good afternoon?
Could it be they live down below?

Jupiter, Venus and countless others,
Our need to know our common sense smothers,
These planets are not ours they belong to other's,
What is it we need to know?

We can't live here because we're so destructive,
The Human just loves to be obstructive,
We refuse to engage in what is constructive,
We will reap the seeds we sow.

An intelligent species who can't live as one,
In disputes we always turn to the gun,
Famines and wars will never be done,
They are everywhere we go.

Billions of pounds spent on lunar travel,
While here on Earth our problems unravel,
Soon Mother Nature will put down her gavel,
As our last dice we throw.

If there are more intelligent creatures than us,
Our lunar adventures they'll refuse to discuss,
Believe me they will kick up a fuss,
They'll be a far more formidable foe.

We are facing oblivion yet we refuse to see,
There are none so blind I am sure you'll agree,
From our Planet Earth we will never be free,
This notion died a long time ago.

The reason the universe was made so vast,
Is due to humankinds present and past,
The violence and destruction we have amassed,
