Watch your step when you go to church,
Might be the wrong place that you search;
It is better to go and hear,
Than to bring the sacrifice near.
Look at some what a fool will bring,
Others will sacrifice nothing;
Their sin they do not sacrifice,
Living with evil will suffice.
Fools are unaware what they do,
Something wicked and evil through;
Regardless what the pastor tells,
At the entrance the ear repels.
Do not be rash using your lip,
There might be poison that you sip;
For if you are eager to speak,
It could be wrongful what you seek.
You are in the presence of God,
At His house to honor and laud;
Remember to trust and obey,
And limit just what you will say.
Daydreams come when you worry too much,
Ask God to comfort with His touch;
And the daydreams will go away,
If you do not wander astray.
Careless speaking comes from a word,
That sounds disdainful to be heard;
When too many words are spoken,
Promises are simply broken.
When you make a promise to God,
He will know if you are a fraud;
Making a promise and not keep,
Then wander off like a stray sheep.
