Have pity on me, O Lord,
In keeping with your mercy;
So I stay in one accord,
Leaving no controversy.
I want to remain within,
Unlimited compassion;
Wiping out rebellious sin,
Rid me of lust and passion.
All of this sin that I built,
Makes this body merely stink;
Wash me totally my guilt,
Cleansing my mind what I think.
I was rebellious before,
My sin was always revealed;
So please close and lock the door,
And the key remains concealed.
I have sinned against my God,
And have done what is evil;
I want to honor and laud,
And get rid of the devil.
Hand down justice when You speak,
You are blameless when you judge;
It is the verdict I seek,
Promise not to hold a grudge.
I do not see of my worth,
As a sinner when conceived;
And have been guilty since birth,
Even though I have believed.
Purify me from the sin,
So that I will remain clean;
I let your Spirit within,
To shine as it should have been.
