When conversations turn to Heaven
We contemplate what lies ahead…
Our finite minds can’t comprehend
The full impact of things we’ve read.
We concentrate on the descriptions…
Walls of jasper…streets of gold!
Brilliant rays of precious stones
We are destined to behold!
Yet we simply can’t imagine
An entrance gate made out of pearl!
Such awesome sights are far removed
From our all too standard world.
But beyond the beauty of it all…
Beyond what our eyes take in
Is a city that is free from all
The ruins and ravages of sin!
The imperfections of this life
Will, in no way, still exist.
Pain, disease, death and despair
Will surely not be missed.
It’s hard to think about a world
With not one impure thought.
A world where love is purity
And can’t be bribed or bought.
A world totally free from crime…
From evil of all kind.
Heaven is the type of world
Much too holy to define.
If it is your destination…
If its where you long to go…
If you’ve chosen God’s salvation plan
Then you will join me there I know.
There will be so much to see and do
Yet we’ll have all eternity…
So just make your way to Jesus first
Because that’s where I intend to be.

Revelation 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow,
nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the
former things are passed away.

And he carried me away in the spirit to a great
and high mountain, and shewed me that great city,
the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
Having the glory of God: and her light was like
unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone,
clear as crystal;

And the building of the wall of it was of jasper:
and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
And the foundations of the wall of the city were
garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first
foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third,
a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh,
chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth,
a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth,
an amethyst.
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls:
every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city
was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
John 14:1-3
"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God,
believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions
if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare
a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where
I am, there you may be also.
