WHY DO WE STILL CARE ABOUT OUR BROTHERS IN ARMS?

Why do we still care even after all of these years
Why do we care what has happened to our brothers
Why do we care how they are doing in their lives
Why do we care if they get the help that they need


People may ask us many of these type of questions
People may say to us so many years have passed by
People may ask why do you feel that you owe them
People may say why don't you just forget the past


The answers are so very simple for anyone to see
The answers are the same as they have always been
The answers will tell you why we are still here
The answers were never hidden away like a secret


It's because we served in Vietnam and Thailand
It's because we always took care of each other
It's because we would have died for each other
It's because of them we made it back home alive

Why you may ask us? It is because we were a band of special brothers
who were unlike any others and we took care of each other over there
in Southeast Asia so that we could all make it back home to our loved
ones who were waiting for us to return home and had prayed very hard
all during the year we were gone asking God to let us survive our own
tours of duty whether we had served in Vietnam or served in Thailand.
During that same period of time that we had served in Vietnam, many
of our brother airmen were serving in Thailand protecting our fighter
planes and our bombers that were flying missions over both North and
South Vietnam and they had faced many of the same dangers and attacks
on their bases from communist insurgents as we had faced at our bases.
It's for these reasons that we all still look out for each other and that
after all these years we still take care of our brothers to this very day
and it's because we've always taken care of our own brothers who had
served with us during those very dangerous and deadly times in our own
history as we all had defended freedom.
