MAN'S FINAL STAND

MAN'S FINAL STAND

Once hidden in the grass of summer, hugged by a rainbow
Where time just folded itself neatly inside angel's wings
Where life's soft breath would forever flow
I buried myself in its collage of sunny-colored things

But the breeze of time began to beckon; its breath upon me
Quietly, I covered my thoughts in bygone days
Feeling half past incomplete while knowing what must be
Had I stitched compassion into life's laddered maze?

The face of time smugly reached for my windowed soul
A meshwork of shadows captured on digital faces
From dust to life living my role, instead of God's role
Where his wholeness could've filled my dark barren places

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So my friend; when life's final tomorrow takes your hand
And your puzzle in life borders God's land
When your shadows are finally folded into your dreams
Know it's his time; it's dust to dust and man's final stand
