Why Did Jesus Come To Earth?

Why did Jesus come to earth?
What was His purpose here?
He came to teach us who God is…
To make His reflection clear.

He came to lead us in all Truth…
The truth some still try to dim.
He is the Way, the Truth, the Life…
All pathways lead to Him!

He came to magnify God’s Grace,
God’s mercy and God’s love…
To bring to earth a touch of all
The good things from above…

To preach the coming Kingdom…
To prepare us for His reign…
When at the end of this dark age
True Light will shine again.

 Came to heal the brokenhearted…
Both in body and in spirit…
To provide a precious Word from God
To all who longed to hear it.

There were reasons for His coming…
Much too multiple to name…
But the greatest reason of them all
Seems the hardest to explain.

For Almighty God came in the flesh…
(He couldn’t die any other way)
To become the perfect Lamb of God
For the sheep who’ve gone astray.

So, why did Jesus come to earth?
I could list them…one, two, three.
But, most of all, He came to die…
Yes, to die for you and me.

Luke 4:18-19

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel
to the poor; he has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight
 to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."

John 14:8-10
Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father,
and it is enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Have I
been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me,
Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can
you say, 'Show us the Father '? "Do you not believe that I
am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say
to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding
 in Me does His works.…

John 10:11
"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays
down his life for the sheep.
