 Penniluck's legacy

If Only We Could Take Back Time

To my lovely eldest child and daughter Angela who will be 49 on 30/3/14 Love you baby always Mum xxxx

Although you are now forty-nine
Nothing changes throughout time
You`re my baby, lass you`ll see
Age means nowt to you and me

Each year that passes in my heart
Tells me that we`ll never part
Such memories so strong and true
Of all the things that we did do

Dancing round to the highland fling
Giggling, talking, everything,
Tickles, stories, lessons, fun,
How you spoke to everyone

Off to school without a tear
Oh that was an awful year
Felt that I was getting old
You were five and getting bold

I was all of twenty-four
Saw time knocking on my door
Oh how daft, so young and free
You would still sit on my knee

Now the years are really flying
It`s hard to stop myself from crying
Come on back, don't go, come here
And let`s relive another year

But instead you are a Nan
And do everything you can
Work so hard, almost a master
Midwife, nurse,oh what a grafter

Take life slow now, have some fun
Meander gently in the sun.
How I wish I could return
For your baby days I yearn

But we have to face the truth
We can never keep our youth
In fact the years we only borrow
And get older on the morrow

But one thing stands no matter what
And that is the memories we`ve got
They are ours and ours to keep
So darling there`s no need to weep.

Have a lovely day and year
Keep joy and laughter ever near
Remember though you are a lady
You will always be my baby.
