Beneath The Roses

Beneath The Roses

She wore a dress of roses
that looked to be in bloom
but underneath the petals
her love had come to soon.
She gave her heart and in return
received a sharpened thorn,
that sent her to destruction
that bright sunshiny morn..
Such beauty lay before her
it blinded her to all,
she only saw the beauty,
she did not see the fall.
The roses left her bloody red,
forever after she has said,
My heart will never love this flower,
for hidden deep within it`s hour,
lies, lies, and never, never, truth,
It stole away my blossoming youth.
Fools we are who cannot see,
The thorns beneath a rosebud tree.
