Poetic-Verses

'' Sometimes The Plaudits You Must Forego ''

Poetry like painting is a form of art,
The question is, at what point do you start,
Whether it's a face or a horse and cart,
Where is it you want it to go?

Just like the writer and their book of fiction,
As in real life it can cause friction,
Not everyone will agree with your depiction,
The problem is how will you know.

Though everyone's similar we are all unique,
How to portray ourselves is what we seek,
To some the finished article will be oblique,
Watch carefully those seeds that you sow.

Life mimics art just as art mimics life,
It can give some pleasure while cause others strife,
The artist's tools are akin to a knife,
They can create, yet cause a deathly blow.

What you have in your mind is a powerful creation,
Though to hurt others you have no inclination,
You could well suffer litigation,
Not everyone is as white as snow.

Who the master will be is based on opinion,
For the vast majority you will be but a minion,
It's a bit like a faulty rack and pinion,
You just have to go with the flow

Do go where they say angels fear to tread,
Controversial or otherwise your work will be read,
Stay confident and there'll be no need to feel dread,
Nurture your talent but take it slow.

Your artwork should be first about self-satisfaction,
With your readership you then want interaction,
Never be afraid of the viewer's reaction,
