Crowded Memories

They say as you get older you forget things,
well maybe you do, forget to post a letter or forget a name or two,
but I think the reason we forget these bits and bobs,
is because our minds are full now of the more important jobs.
The day we got married, that day with our mum,
playing catty and batty out in the sun,
Hearing dad singing with a voice pure and true,
playing with our children and loving them too,
the sad times and glad times with family and friends,
the memories of teen years we believed never ends.
The losses and laughter, the gain and the pain.
Inside our heads we live it again.
Our sisters and brothers, those gone and still here,
oh yes we remember, we feel them all near.
Too many moments crowd into our thought,
so I think it`s okay to say we forgot,
to post that old letter, remember that name,
with a heart full of memories to live once again.
To feel arms around you from someone you love,
even if its only from high up above.
Forget all the dross and remember the loss
of sweet times together,
remember forever.
No we do not forget as we grow very old,
we choose to remember the memories of gold.
