If I ever wanted to brag,
I would never be such a fool;
Because it is kind of a drag,
Not sticking to the golden rule.
For I am telling you the truth,
Since it is not in my style;
To do something that is uncouth,
That causes some folks to rile.
But I am going to spare you,
So you do not think less of me;
Rather let you hear what is true,
For giving you insight to see.
I will not become conceited,
About the things that I do know;
Until my work is completed,
And I say, "See, I told you so."
I am forced to deal with trials,
How Satan tries to torment me;
With temptation that defiles,
Anything I do righteously.
I begged the Lord take it away,
The temptations that will entice;
Be able to trust and obey,
So my life I can sacrifice.
He told me, "My loving kindness,
Is all that you will ever need;
My power is strongest to bless,
When you are weak spreading the seed."
So I brag about my weakness,
And power from Christ lives within;
Remembering times of bleakness,
That Christ is stronger that the sin.
