'' It Could Well Be You ''
Is it possible to love from afar?
With someone you've never seen,
Internet connections can be bizarre,
Chaos can often convene.
I can say I resemble James Bond,
You can say you look like Kate Moss,
Think of all the lies that are spawned,
A.N. Other could be your boss.
Infatuation can then take hold,
That person may be not what you thought,
Will their true persona ever unfold?
If so could you be left fraught?
Is long distance love an impossible dream?
Praying your wish will come to fruition,
Will you end up like the cat with the cream?
Or find out it's an apparition.
Humans are renowned for creating false hope,
Especially on the subject of love,
Without our dreams we just can't cope,
Oh and divine intervention from above.
We now live in world where the Internet is king,
Where reality can be hidden by stealth,
Don't become obsessed by an engagement ring,
It could have a detrimental effect on your health.
Talking and meeting are worlds apart,
Distant contact we can misconstrue,
This poem could be aimed at someone's heart,
