Before my time would come to be
Before my walk was mine you see
It was all His who came to bare
Alone sandals His feet did wear
The weight was His before now mine
Weight beyond and drawn out line
This line He drew to draw me close
Close to Him, the Lord of Hosts
To breathe of Life and not of death
To grant me sight and ears not deaf
To hear His voice that called to one
This one He called His loving son
Of late I dwell a bit too far
But just the same, The Morning Star
Does watch with eyes that love beyond
The furthest point I may just be
Like you who read and writes as me
This gift you call poetic thoughts
These words upon your mind He brought
Reminding all of yesterday
The part He played on your birthday
Such breath exhaled this very moment
Inhaled again for man to own it
Another chance, so not deserved
As is in Heaven with room reserved
Not all will come and meet halfway
The Gift Of life as time gave way
To be with one who made the one
The one truth path GOD calls His son
This gift of Life that raised the dead
Before as you who lives misled
A promise kept if you should choose
Reborn this gift some stand to lose
