Come walk with me By EDWIN FLORES, www.PoetryPoem.com/poetry2231 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
I dreamed again that I found you
Upon a path that you outgrew
The path where two once shared their dreams
Dreams of old that need once schemed
Clothed in dress of white you were
A sight for eyes that in mine mirrored
The once that was that made me whole
A change of heart, our story told
Though none the less I ran with you
Across a field with hands held too
Fields of gold that made me feel
This moment mine, this day I'd steal
Steal your heart with a few words
Steal your breath and soul I stirred
I miss those days and breathing in
The scent upon your hair and skin
Essence yours immersed within
Your smile gave me a reason to
Live again, again with you
A love that warmed and kept alive
The part of me that lives inside
I stroked your face and drew last breath
Of you, of life, too briefly lead
To loves demise that drew itself
Inside, your being, my greatest wealth
Come walk with me once more and leave
A piece of you that once believed
That love was ours if for a day
This walk well worth all yesterdays
Come walk with me
