Consider The Lilies

Times are so hard...
Soft places so few.
Seems falling is always
From a mountainous view.

We hit with a thud...
We’re dazed with despair...
Always wondering why
We have got to land there.

Where is God in our need?
Where’s our promised supply?
Bewildered and broken,
We have got to ask why.

Haven’t we done our best?
Been faithful and true?
Given so much to others?
Done all we could do?

We are willing to work,
But there just is no job!
Why was Satan allowed
To kill and to rob??

Our loved one’s been taken...
Our livelihood gone.
Our families in debt.
How are we to go on?

Consider the what?
The birds of the air?
Lilies of the field?
Do we have to go there?

O, Lord, we're ashamed...
Please forgive us once more.
We should know what will happen
When You're closing a door.

You will open another
Or a window someplace.
We can always depend
On Your Love and Your Grace.

We will stand on Your Word...
We'll await our supply.
We've considered the lilies
And the lilies don’t lie!!!

~~Dedicated to Sally~~

Luke 12:22-31, KJV
And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say
unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye
shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
The life is more than meat, and the body is more
than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither
sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse or
barn; and God feedeth them: how much more
are ye better than the fowls? And which of you
with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least,
why take ye thought for the rest? Consider the lilies
how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and
yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory
was not arrayed like one of these. If then God
so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field,
and to morrow is cast into the oven; how
more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye
shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
For all these things do the nations of the world
seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have
need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom
of God; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Philippians 4:19, KJV
But my God shall supply all your need according
to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

Matthew 7:7-8, 11, KJV
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye
shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh
findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened . . .
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto
your children, how much more shall your Father which
is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"
