Can you hear them?
How old are you?
Well, that's the reason you don’t hear them!
But someday, you’ll begin to hear them!
First it’s sound like small footsteps in the snow,
then as time moves on it gets a little louder.
Then one day, you will think what is that annoying sound?
You stop and listen, but the sound is silent.
Time passes, a few years later you are conscience of it again,
but slightly louder this time.
You think, “It sounds like someone is following me.”
Guess what? You’re right!
It the footsteps of time and there gaining on you!
At first, you try to ignore them, but that just makes it worse!
Now the years have gone by so fast and you have become alarmingly
accustom to the annoying sound of footsteps.
Sixties, seventies, and now in the eighties the sound is like thunder!
You dare not look back, for fear of what you may see!
One day you wake up and realize that the footsteps of the Grim
Reaper has arrived at your door!
My friend, by now, it’s too late for tears of regret!
