Things that once held value to me,
Now considered worthless for Christ;
Because I no longer can see,
Things that need to be sacrificed.
For I love the fruit of the vine,
Preferring the cream of the crop;
The one and only Light Divine,
Our Holy Lord at the top.
But it is far bigger than that,
Everything else is worthless;
Better now to where I am at,
Because Jesus is my weakness.
So then I threw it all away,
Since it was Christ that I could gain;
Now I no longer go astray,
The Holy Spirit cleaned the stain.
Through Jesus Christ God has approved,
And has given His salvation;
My transgressions have been removed,
For building a firm foundation.
A foundation of faith that grows,
A faith of glory that is bright;
A faith that shines while it shows,
The pathway through the dark of night.
For this approval comes from God,
Proving He is loved and adored;
Worshipping to honor and laud,
Being your master and your Lord.
It is not that I reached my goal,
Or so soon completed the course;
For Jesus Christ has won my soul,
From the darkness that I divorce.
For I am still not a winner,
But I will not be looking back;
Since I could still be a sinner,
From the confidence that I lack.
