Into the valley of death flew MH seventeen

( I hope Tennyson approves )

History has a way to ultimately repeat,
A horror of the past leaving a receipt,
Crimea still at war, old familiar scene,
Into the valley of death flew MH seventeen,

Normal men blinded by political aims,
Manipulated by powers, denied by claims,
Cover up of evidence, deliberately obscene,
Into the valley of death flew MH seventeen,

The world pleads compassion, so far denied,
Families of victims, more tears will be cried,
Charred remains untouched in fields of green,
Into the valley of death flew MH seventeen.

This was an act of evil, the most hideous crime,
Hearts will not be healed, by old Father Time,
No-one brave enough to accept and come clean,
Into the valley of death flew the MH seventeen.

The locals were benevolent, assisting if they could,
The militaria were obstructive, their reasons crude,
Looting is sickening, seen by millions on screen,
Into the valley of death flew MH seventeen,

It's not too late to treat grieving families with grace,
The Militia still have a chance to join the human race,
Lest we never forget, and never again be it seen,
Into the valley of death flew MH seventeen.

Families and loved ones may god willing re-unite,
Those innocent victims of an unnecessary fight,
Like the light brigade, it should never have been,
Into the valley of death flew MH seventeen,

May they eternally rest in a land called home,
May they be symbols of hope for years to come,
May they convey some sanity to a warring machine,
Into the valley of death flew MH seventeen
