Is wisdom better than gold?
How much better is to gain?
The understanding as told,
Can be vaulted in the brain.
To gain the understanding,
Gold is better than silver;
But knowledge is demanding,
Of wisdom as a solver.
The highway will turn away,
Decent people from evil;
So they do not go astray,
And be caught by the devil.
Whoever watches his way,
Is preserving his own life;
And will never go astray,
Cutting the amount of strife.
Pride precedes a disaster,
Arrogance precedes a fail;
A prophet or forecaster,
Predicts his plan will curtail.
Pay attention to the Lord,
You will prosper through His Word;
If you let it be ignored,
You become deaf and speech slurred.
If you are sincerely wise,
You have the understanding;
Speaking sweetly opens eyes,
While you are commanding.
Understanding is a stream,
Flowing down the mountain side;
As farfetched as it may seem,
Will hide common sense inside.
A wise heart controls your speech,
What you say helps others learn;
Pleasant words will help you teach,
Respect from students you earn.
