 Soon The Dark

--------------------

Soon The Dark

It was approaching the fuzzy part of evening
With faded colors, western sun and foggy skies
The late spring part of evening's display
Alive with moths, mosquitoes and fireflies...

*

One detects faraway tossing waving trees
Their whisperings carried on balmy breeze
Spring approaches by riotous leaps and bounds
Slowly bringing ragged winter to its knees...

*

These were the mellow mystical mushroom days
When earth slows down seemingly to a crawl
The waking of buzzing, humming, flitting things
And the time for splashing need of parasol...

*

Yes, it was the indistinct part of eventide
Shadows playing tricks under sinking skies
The last ray of sunshine sparkled, then died
At the spot where evening's first darkness lies......
