We sometimes look across a room
And wish that we could be
A little more like someone else
And less like you or me.
We have looked into a mirror...
Not admiring what we saw...
But seeing that one feature
We've been told is such a flaw.
But if we should listen quietly
We’ll hear the Lord remind
That we’re fearfully and wonderfully
Created by design.
Each part is such a miracle…
Each part stands as it should.
God knitted us together
And he saw that it was good.
Silence the lies, look past the flaws…
Believe what God has stated!
If we are made in His image
Then we’re beautifully created!
Can we just dare to find delight
In the person that we are?
Now, could that be so scandalous?
Is that thought so bizarre?
We find gifts in others glorious
And automatically we long
To be that awesome artist
Or be singing that sweet song.
Then somehow in our seduction
His Voice keeps breaking through,
"My child, you should be satified
I handpicked your gift for you."
The Word does say to love yourself,
So why can't we realize
That we're not ordinary
But so special in His eyes?
God doesn't make any mistakes...
Conception holds His lifeline.
And every single one of us
Was created by design.
