WHO AM I

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
YOUR THOUGHTS UNTO ME, O GOD!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Psalm 139:17-18
 King James Version

17. How precious also are Your thoughts unto me, O God!

How great is the sum of them!

18. If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;

When I awake, I am still with You.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is my understanding of what these Scriptures mean.
I do not claim to be all knowing as I write this.
Some things in the Bible we take by faith.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Book of PSALMS was written
by King David and Others.

The date of the writing was the 10th century or later.

The Theme of Psalms is Praise.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In Psalms 139  King David
speaks of God's all seeing eye and inescapable presence.
V17. How precious also are Your thoughts unto me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
David in his praise to God used the word precious,
it means valuable, priceless, cherished, treasured. He held
God's love for him as a gift that could not be replaced.
He was overwhelmed to think that God thought of him.
He expressed in his worship of God by saying,
"How great is the sum of them".
The number of times God thought of David was so vast it
could not be numbered. This is the way God thinks of us too.
This could make you frightened to know this,
but it is a true blessing to know that God's all
seeing eyes are always on us.
I would hate to know there is ever a time when He would
take His eyes off of me.  This does not mean that I am perfect for I am not.
But, God has begun a work in me.
I still have thoughts I should not have,  I still say things I should not say,
I still do many things that are displeasing to God, BUT,
He still loves me and forgives me for my sins and shortcomings.
Like King David, I say, "Thank you for your all seeing eye."
He is that Gift that can never be replaced!
V18. If I should count them, they would be more in
numbers than the sand;
 When I awake, I am still with You.
King David here uses the hypothetical "if".  David knew there
was no way for him to count the number of times God thought of him.
The numbers did not go up that high.  He says if he could count
them they would be more in number than the grains of sand.
Take a hand full of sand and try to count
how many grains are in just a hand full.
Then add that to all the sand on all the beaches
and in the deserts all around the world.
That would only start to number the times that God the Father
thinks of us, His children. David sings out in praise, "When I awake,
I am still with You!" God was with him all the time.
 Everywhere he was, God was with him.
Not only does God know us completely.
He also thinks about us all the time.
He knows all there is to know about us.
AND HE STILL LOVES US!  HE STILL FORGIVES US FOR OUR SINS.
He knows our entire life from before we were born to the last day
we are alive on this earth from there to infinity.
He knows all about our every sin and moral compromises.
He fixes His heart on us and thinks about us all the time.
We as King David did should
praise God the Father for His great love to us.
John 14:6-7  New King James Version
 Jesus said to him, "I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.
John 3: 16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life.
