Blues 'n Booze

Brownie passed the bottle

And I put it to my lips.

In all truth I took

Just one little sip

Sitting next to Brownie

In a state of awe

Sitting next to Brownie

And whats more

Sharing a bottle as Sonny

Played a mouth harp blues.

So hard to believe

But I swear its true

We shared a drop of Scotch

Old Brownie and me

And we sang along with

Sonny, old Brownie and me

So many years ago

Both of them long gone

But in my mind

That scene lingers on

Sitting next to Brownie

Almost in a state of grace

Sitting next to Brownie

In a very special place

In all truth I took

Just one little sip

As Brownie passed the bottle

And I put it to my lips.
