Tears of Mother NatureMother nature's lost children, their demise makes her cry, Left in the hands of man, many more species have to die, Selfish taking of their habitat, robbing them of their home, When will man ever be finished,? extinctions yet to come,? Our oceans are vastly depleted, fish stocks are in decline, Contamination by oil slicks, or birdlife wrapped in twine, Holes in the ozone layer, unfiltered radiation beating down, A shrinking rural countryside, engulfed by a spreading town, Forests trees destroyed at random, few replanted in their place, Now their native homes are gone, rare animals at mercy's grace, This is not a natural evolution, but ignorance mixed with greed, Poachers supplying tusks while dying animals are left to bleed We are ruled by fools in government, are they too blind to see, Can it be some ulterior motive,? self interest of the bourgeoisie,? It is already goodbye Tassie Tiger, and farewell dear Dodo bird, Living in a mercenary society, where conservation is a dirty word Let mother nature look after her creations, and wipe away her tear, Again she may embrace her children, no longer will they disappear Bring in the elements of a natural world, where balance is retained, Add an essence of wisdom, guardian knowledge may be attained, Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
