I am a captive of the Lord,
And it can never be ignored;
The kind of life that does prove,
Sins are forgiven to remove.
Be humble and gentle all times,
So not to be guilty of crimes;
Be patient with other people,
Remembering from the Gospel.
Through the peace that ties together,
Sharing it with one another;
Maintain unity is the best,
For the future you can invest.
There is one body and Spirit,
And it reflects on your merit;
The same way as you share one hope,
With insight to see the full scope.
There is one faith and just one Lord,
One baptism in one accord;
One Father of all and one God,
That we should all honor and laud.
We are looked upon with favor,
And given through our Savior;
It was measured to us by Christ,
Up on the cross when sacrificed.
What does it mean that He went up,
With drinking poison from the cup;
He went down deep into the earth,
Before giving us second birth.
He gave many gifts to the church,
For the truth in helping to search;
He gave apostles and teachers,
Missionaries also preachers.
Their purpose is for us to share,
In order for us to prepare;
To build up and to serve as one,
For when the return of the Son.
