Poetic-Verses

'' In Myself I Believed ''

As the end draws nearer,
To my final demise,
Life couldn't be clearer,
I've had so many highs.

From those early years,
To the present day,
Yes laughter and tears,
Have always held sway.

The love of my Mum,
The lessons of life,
Being under the thumb,
By a brutal ex wife.

Watching my Dad,
Erring in haste,
It still drives me mad,
Such a terrible waste.

School I detested,
Too many rules,
Whenever I protested,
Accosted by fools.

You'll amount to nowt,
I was constantly told,
This is bullying I'd shout,
Their response left me cold.

When I finally left,
With no qualifications,
They all said theft,
One of his aspirations.

A good job I reckoned,
Wouldn't take long,
Earning money beckoned,
I wasn't far wrong.

Soon I was earning,
I had come of age,
This was my type of learning,
The world I could gauge.

New knowledge was king,
I wanted some more,
I would do anything,
Nothing was a chore.

When asked how are you,
By old school friends,
They can't believe it's true,
That I've made amends.

To this day I am learning,
I don't ever stop,
It's belief you'll be earning,
Don't get caught on the hop.

I've enjoyed a good time,
Despite what was said,
I did not turn to crime,
That was all in their head.

If one thing stands out,
Of what I've achieved,
It is this I must shout,
