We traveled  down that road before
but the paths that were trodden
seemed to circle around and around
and always brought us back
to the one moment that split us in two.

We used to be of one mind
but our foolish pride came in between.
So we parted ways and went on a search
to find some one to walk into our lives
and be the start of a brand new journey.

We could not see it then
but time would mend our broken hearts
and send us down new uncharted paths.
For we both needed more from each other
than either one of us were able to give.

We have each found our shining star
and the light that has been given
has brought us to different places.
But if we had stayed we would have missed
all the love that was waiting down the road.
