The wind chimes in its thoughts this day
A chill minute yet still it plays
It's role of you upon my mind
A brief but loved, a better time
It came as if it needed to
Remind me much, of you I knew
If for a season or brief lifetime
Projecting thoughts of one's life line
It sings of you that held me here
If for a time, today draw nears
The very thing that blankets me
With warmth the need of pleasantries
I listen close, caressing words
Alive become what now is heard
Your voice that soothed my need to be
Alongside you that completes me
Your melody would bring to peace
My famished soul, a ravaged beast
Sing to me September's song
For there is where I so for long
If for a time, if for a few
Again this day, September drew
A breath of life that yearns again
To know of love and what was then
September's Song
